Transcripts are documents containing proof of completion that are part of an educational or employment record. Official academic transcripts are sent through a credible source to ensure that no alterations have been made, and they are required by most colleges and universities. The American Council on Education (ACE) endorses an official transcript called the ACE Transcript, which is powered by digital credential provider Credly. The ACE Transcript is issued to students and independent learners who successfully complete a course, examination, program, or certification with an ACE credit recommendation from the ACE National Guide.
The ACE Transcript relies on digital credentials, known as badges, to display information about learning experiences.
Badges include the title of the experience completed, the name of the providing organization, the date the credential was earned, and a brief description of the experience, as well as an ACE endorsement for the specific credit recommendation.
The ACE endorsement includes an ACE course identification number, total semester hours recommended, and aligned subject areas in which academic credit is recommended.
