Each recommendation period, or version, of a credit recommendation is based on a separate evaluation. During each review, our faculty evaluators note any changes made to the curriculum and compare the current training or examination with best practices in higher education programs in order to validate that the course is still meeting rigorous academic standards. Postsecondary expectations and academic standards are continuously changing to align with industry expectations.
If the learning outcomes or topics covered in the training or examination have changed, it is likely that the ACE credit recommendations will also change accordingly.
Let’s say you take a course for 18 weeks in 2020, and the same course offered in 2023 has been reduced to only 12 weeks. The shortened course will probably have a change in learning outcomes and curriculum covered, which will impact the ACE credit recommendations.
